Guru Nanak Academy

About School

Our Story

In early 1979’s Gurudwara Singh Sabha, influenced by Sikhinian perception of constructive program into a difficult path of child education. Guru Nanak Academy has offered the highest standard in childhood education and care since its inception.

Social attitudes, poverty, safety, lack of female role models, inadequate sanitation, pregnancy are a few of the reasons why a sizeable number of children who are not in schools, are girls.

Guru Angad, the second Guru stressed mental as well as physical development through education, Sports and discipline as the important characteristics of a Sikh. With the above concept of Sikh religion, in the early 1979’s, to provide quality education to the under-privileged children of the society, especially the girls, the Sikh community working in BHEL Haridwar took an initiative to run an Academy in the Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar premises in BHEL, Sector-II, Haridwar.

In 1988, the foundation stone for a separate School building was laid down by S. Ajit Singh, Hon’ble State Minister of Education, UP Government. At present we have 21 class rooms and a big Conference Hall. We have separate ultra-modern toilets/wash rooms for our children. Guru Nanak Academy has offered the highest standard in childhood education and care since its inception.

Our aim is to be regarded as one of leading providers of public school education within minimum possible fee affordable to the parents.

Guru Nanak Academy is managed by Guru Nanak Educational Society which is a non-profitable trust consisting of the retired/working BHEL officials from the Sikh community who volunteer to serve the society in the field of education. This Society is registered under the societies Act 1860 (21) for child education in Haridwar. Childhood education for children, families, local community and professional development for educators is the cornerstone to ensure high standards. To achieve this, best practices are applied and continuously improved in the Academy. Guru Nanak Academy with all its might welcomes you. Guru Nanak Academy is a kind of school with an innovative vision in the field of education and personal excellence. Remarkably, Guru Nanak Academy adhere to the very basic purposes of a national standard of Education. The Guru Nanak Academy is heading towards deviation from the conventional system of education to the modern system of learning. This, however, doesn’t mean any departure from the actual teaching and educational practices. The fundamental concept of the school is to reduce the generation gap in the entire field, by the time the students get matured and enter into the practical aspects of life.

Embracing children with needs, cultural, religious or geographical diversity is what makes our school so unique. Providing support for educators enables the best possible outcome for your child. We believe children are capable, competent individuals that are an integral part of a community which nurtures and respects them.

Guru Nanak Academy is the new meaning to a new dimension of education pattern. Guru Nanak Academy is not just a school. It is a place where the cradle of wisdom lies. It is a place where the children learn more practically about body, mind, world and the scientific developments. The school understands the importance of coeval maturity. The salad days are carefully monitored and moulded to bring out the most efficient person in a student. This study concept is practiced from the very primary level itself.
